In 1884, the great industrialist, the Rameshbhai Kajaria converted a sand heaps into a clay soil at the village of Achhapuri. The sand heaps at Achhapuri is the reason of the fine clay found here. Mud excavation has been used for a long time in the areas around here, and was been discovered that it was very good at protecting the mould against the weather, during the rainy season. In 1885, Kajaria designed a machine that is capable of casting Kajaria tile, clay products. Rameshbhai Kajaria was a great industrialist, visionary and had a passion for art. He was a very clever man. He discovered that it was very difficult to fire the clay fully and therefore till the clay fuses with the water thoroughly, the fired clay is harder and can be moulded into a unique shape.
This wonderful Kajaria tile, was made at a place called Kajaria Village. The mud excavation was made in 1885. Kajaria tile is a country-made product made by hand, using a wooden mould. Kajaria tile has been made using a beautiful clay, which has more than 70 minerals in it. The richness of this beautiful piece of clay makes it unique. The beautiful patterns found on Kajaria tile are made by the clay body. The patterns have been formed by simpler or stronger mud.
