The likely origin of these streams is due to the agronomic activities on the lower area around Madaba. It is expected that downstream of the Madaba, the streams will be of higher quality as a result of extensive occurrence of shallow fisheries and other human activities. This review serves as a model report to the Israeli Government and its various agencies in order to implement planning decisions for protection of the Madaba Valley and its waters. With the three activities implemented in this study in western, southwestern and eastern directions, it was possible to receive information on the existing coastal degraded lands (upstream source areas) in Israel, which are important for the protection of the water sources in Israel. This can be helpful for Israel in requiring the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries to treat the coastal waters contaminated with highly impacted chemicals, in order to reduce the impact of agricultural chemical run-off on the coastal waters.
The agronomic activity areas around the Madaba are being used as low cost infill areas for vegetables, fodder (silage) and forest areas along the Israeli coastline. In addition, they are used and/or proposed for various amenities for governmental, public, private members of the public and other uses. However, the main source of contamination from agricultural application of chemicals was identified as being localized. In addition, the stream samples, which were in the field, were also artificially polluted with chemical concentration gradients, introduction of non targeted pesticides and careless dosing of chemicals. However, the major source of contamination was due to the agronomic activities. They demonstrated that the effects of the lands are limited to the soil sample surface only to a depth of about one to several meters. The soil surface is not uniformly and accurately, uniformly contaminated with the vegetable and the animal wastes. Predicting the exact amount of mixing and to what extend a discharge from areas does not have a significant impact on the total water quality of the system can only be evaluated with time. These areas are utilized and intensively studied as a very cheap water resource for salt production, fodder (silage) and flowers using a very small amount of water for very brief periods. Moreover, the prolonged practice of this activity over a long period of time with the ongoing constant post-factual pollutions by the activities that are being conducted has resulted in a time dependent accumulation of contaminants. d2c66b5586
