I did not receive an email from Quicken about the activation code, it must be in my spam or junk folder. I was able to look up my credentials for the account and it was found I had a 10 year older Quicken installed. I attempted to uninstall and reinstall that older version but it did not appear in my account list. I did a full uninstall and then a new install and it seems to go through without error.
I am worried now. I also had Quicken 2008 Premium installed and I thought I was upgrading my software to Quicken 2010. When I opened that version of Quicken to see if I wanted to upgrade it and found I had an extra year of software. I also found that the previous owner had not closed his account and left many transactions in the account. The previous owner had never used Quicken before.
I deleted the old software and discovered I also had an extra year of software on my computer from another Quicken software purchased just after Quicken 2008. So I was looking at 4 years of software on my computer.
After entering the activation code (which I have), I then go to the Quicken download site and it gives me the option to use the 2017 or 2018 version of Quicken. I choose the 2018 version. Then it says:
You DO NOT need to enter an activation code. When you purchased Quicken, you received an email with your Quicken ID. Make sure that you have a copy of this email; if you don't, call Quicken at 1-800-242-7352 and ask for your serial number. Or, purchase a copy of Quicken 2018 from the Quicken download site.
I then go to the Quicken download site, ( https://www.quicken.com/quicken-download/ ). From the download site, my screen is now asking for the Quicken activation code, as if I did not already have it. This makes no sense.
I have been told by others that Quicken 2018 has a problem with the keyboard. They don't know why. I have been using it for a few months, and never had a problem. I think the problem is because I use the font size used for menus on the web.
