Donghyun Kim and Richard Langley of the University of New Brunswick's department of geodesy and geomatics engineering have created a guidance system that uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to steer a giant port crane.
The port crane at Seoho Company Ltd. is one of the largest and most complex in Asia. It is designed to lift 1,200 tonne containers, and is capable of moving objects as heavy as 10,000 tonne. The Seoho crane serves the port at Incheon in South Korea. The new Trimble SX10 is a dual-purpose survey and scanning instrument capable of direct point cloud acquisition, and it is also an ideal imaging instrument for the project.
The Seoho port crane was first tested with the Trimble SX10 in 2014. The project involved installing the SX10 at the main station of the port, and then a further 12 sites in the area. The robotic total station was installed in a separate location so that workers could also use the total station for conventional surveying tasks. The system provided a way to survey locations without moving the crane, and to do so with a high degree of accuracy. It was only necessary to measure the X, Y and Z coordinates. The system was designed as a robotic total station, with a computer connected to the total station that used the GPS to steer the laser scanner.
To test the app, we loaded up a Windows PC with Minecraft, loaded up the app on iOS and then launched the game on the Switch. As expected, the app was very quick and easy to use. As with other screen recording apps, you also get a list of the app's features on the main screen, such as Audio/Video quality, recording mode and size. There's also a thumbnail for the currently playing video at the bottom of the screen, as well as a button to start the recording.
In our case, we started the recording, then switched to Mario Kart 8 on the Switch, started racing around a track, and then switched back to Minecraft once we had successfully finished the race. There was no issue, and the audio quality was very good with no drop in quality throughout the game. We managed to record about 18 minutes of gameplay, which isn't bad for the price. The app also lets you save the video in a number of formats, including MP4, MOV, and WEBM. If you want to upload it to YouTube, the app can also save it as an MP4 or MP3 file.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
