1. The Fuel Fido was still in orbit, and the software had made the Lander visible to it, as in the simulated view in the lower right corner of the picture above.
2. The Fuel Fido had damaged its landing legs.
3. The Fuel Fido had damaged its nose.
4. The Lander's fuel tank was damaged by the landing.
And, of course, the Lander was also damaged by the landing.
You'll have to wait a bit, unfortunately, as I've got a lot of tests to do to get done in a couple of hours. Once I get the testing out of the way, the rest of the day will be spent on writing this up. So we'll see you all next week, and for now, don't forget to join me on the next Dunata-Industrial with Flight Test #1, Episode 3.
The ship was already at ~4,000 meters when the descent started. At 2,000 meters, I cut the throttle to 80% and waited for the descent to be more or less steady. I was in true-descent mode, with the left-left and left-right servos forward and the right-right servos back. The ship was flying pretty close to straight, so I only had to worry about straightening the ship out. I cut the throttle to 80% about 5 seconds later, and it was time to trim the ship. I had cut the throttle about 3 seconds earlier to get the ship to trim more easily.
The Gobi can even take some aerocapture, although it needs to be very low, or else it'll fall out of the atmosphere entirely. It can come up to about 5 km altitude (10,000 m), and even at that height it's still able to burn for several seconds before it starts to fall.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
